Musings on Power BI and other data topics, primarily written at night
In early 2022 I found myself wanting to get plugged back into the larger Power BI community, but realizing that I found myself at a bit of a crossroads: I valued my weekends too much to spend them thinking about work-related topics. The majority of the community that was out there seemed to be focused around livestreams, conferences, or other events that largely occurred on weekends, when I prefer to spend my time on the river or out in the woods, and I ended up coming up with the name for this blog at around 2 AM, while driving home from the DC area to Providence, RI. I always loved spending time listening to shows like the Explicit Measures Podcast or Kasper On BI, but was no longer able to make it to live events like the weekly Guy In A Cube livestream
So these are my thoughts, opinions, or tips on my experience working with Power BI since late 2017, and the blog may (or may not) grow to cover additional topics as time goes on.
The Author
My name is Kyle A. Mueller, and I always use the “A” in my name so that I actually show up in Google search results once in a blue moon
It’s shocking how much “Kyle Mueller” gets overshadowed by a professional golfer, and a doctor in Rhode Island.
I’ve been working with Power BI and related technologies since late 2017, and in that time I’ve worked within the higher ed industry, as a member of a 2-man consulting firm, a 50-man consulting firm, and now a multi-national consultancy. In that time I’ve taken a really strong liking to some of the more “fun” topics within Power BI, specifically around Power Query and Administration/governance of Power BI tenants. In addition to my work life, I also enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible whether through hiking, mountaineering, whitewater kayaking, or just taking walks by the river near my home.
I don’t have a newsletter, sorry folks.
If you want to get notified of any future blog posts, I’ll eventually figure out how to set up an RSS feed on here. If you have any tips on that or other topics related to this site, feel free to email me directly at
